1. Repeat Prescriptions

All patients on long-term medication should try to be seen, at least, at 6 monthly intervals. A repeat prescription will not be issued to any patient who has not been reviewed by the doctor in the practice in the last 6 months.

Please allow 24 hours notice for repeat prescriptions. Hospital prescriptions for medical card patients should be brought to the medical centre so that your own Doctor can issue the prescription using the required paper.

2. Appointments

We operate an appointment system within our practice. Please telephone or contact us through this website to make an appointment. Appointments are allocated in 15 minute slots. Please notify the telephonist if you require a longer appointment time for whatever reason: eg. for full medical exam.

When you attend the surgery, please register at reception to ensure that you are in queue and pay for your visit in advance. Proceed to the waiting room, where you will be called through the intercom system.

3. Telephone Calls to Doctors

As frequent telephone calls can disrupt a consultation each Doctor has a voice mail box, where you can leave a message and he/she will return your call as soon as is practical. Do not leave urgent messages on the voicemail.

4. House Calls

All house calls must be discussed with your doctor first to clarify urgency & necessity of call.

5. Test Results

Blood/urine and x-ray results will take one week to return. Cervical Smear results may take two months to be returned. Please telephone the nurse between the hours of 1pm and 3pm Mon. to Thurs. for your results.

6. Form Filling/Letter Requests

Please allow one week for letters or forms to be completed by your Doctor. You may collect these from our reception desk after this time. There is a charge of 20euro to cover the administration, time and professional opinion for completing forms/letters. (some forms excluded)

7. Accounts/Bills

Payment is necessary at each medical visit. We do not offer credit. The fee payable is at your Doctor's discretion. For your convenience, we accept: Cash, Cheques, LASER, VISA, MASTERCARD.

Unfortunately, the medical card scheme does not cover every type of consultation. Please ask before the consultation whether it is covered or not otherwise you may incur a charge.

We also provide services that are covered by VHI, Quinn Healthcare and Vivas Health. Your Doctor will advise you if the service you require is covered by your health insurance provider.
